image People planning to book flights to Spain next year may be interested to learn that Thomson Airways is set to increase the number of services it operates from Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

The carrier is to raise capacity by around nine per cent during summer 2011, transporting an additional 15,000 passengers.

"The growth is a result of strong summer 2010 forward sales and will see Thomson Airways operating two 737-800's and one 737-300 for summer 2011," said airport director Mike Morton.

He added that the hub has been working hard to raise awareness of the routes it serves.

Some of the destinations that will be benefiting from the increase in seats include Dalaman, Bodrum, Tunisia, Lanzarote, Malaga and Mahon.

In related news, budget airline Flybe recently announced details of its winter schedule, with the carrier set to operate 3,214 flights a week on 143 key routes.

Booking opens on May 26th 2010 and fares are available from £21.50 one way including taxes and airport charges.
